Picture of the day: A female medic from D Company, 1 YORKS shares a laugh with local children in Afghanistan during a patrol last year.
Delhi (D) Coy, 1 YORKS, were based in Nahr-e Seraj during their six-month tour. They occupied forward operating base (FOB) Khar Nikha and five small check points around the area. The troops' main effort was to ensure the security of the local population by conducting foot and vehicle patrols. They worked closely with Afghan security forces and the local police who are based locally.
