Woolwich Army Barracks is one of the oldest in London, built between 1776 and 1802 and has the longest Georgian Facade on the country. The Barracks has just seen the completion of a 50.5M GBP regeneration programme providing new and refurbished accomodation for around 850 soldiers and their families.

British and US Marines play charity cricket match in Sangin

"RAF personnel release flares during a training exercise for helicopter crews in the Middle East. 250 Royal Air Force personnel from RAF Odiham and RAF Benson undertake a training exercise in Jordan. This is the first time that 6 Chinook and 3 Merlin helicopters had trained together in a desert environment, as crews prepare for deployment to Afghanistan."

Around 450 soldiers from the battalion are being deployed to Helmand Province for a variety of roles , including training and mentoring the Afghan security forces.
